How much does a DJ cost in Philadelphia?

The cost of hiring a DJ in Philadelphia can vary depending on the type of event, its location, performance duration, and the specific DJ selected. Our pricing for general parties starts at $700, while weddings typically range from $1,600 to $4,000+. Corporate events can range from $1,000 to over $5,000. For a detailed quote tailored to your specific needs, please contact our sales team.

How do I book a DJ with Extraordinary?

To book a DJ, please contact our sales team to discuss your event details and review available talent options. Once you’ve selected your DJ, we’ll gather the necessary information to prepare your contract. To secure your date and DJ, you’ll need to sign the contract and pay a deposit of 50% of the total balance. The remaining balance must be paid in full 30 days prior to the event, unless your organization follows a different payment policy.

Will the DJ take song requests?

Yes, our DJs do accept song requests. You can submit a request list prior to the performance, and we recommend doing so at least a week before the event to give the DJ adequate time to prepare. While guests can also provide song requests during the event, please note that the DJ may not be able to honor all of them, either due to availability or appropriateness for the event.

How much time does the DJ need to setup?

Most DJ packages require the talent to arrive one hour before the performance for setup. For weddings, we generally ask for 2-3 hours prior to the start time. Please discuss your event logistics with our booking agent to ensure everything is ready to go when the performance starts.

Can I have the DJ perform outside?

Yes, our DJs are available for outdoor performances, but we do recommend providing shelter to protect against the elements. If the performance space is not covered, the DJ will need to stop and remove equipment at the first sign of inclement weather. Additionally, if temperatures rise above 85 degrees, overheating may cause the performance to pause. It’s important to note that if the DJ must stop due to weather conditions, the contracted service time will not be extended. We advise planning for proper cover or tenting.

How many guests can your standard DJ package accommodate?

Our DJ packages include sound systems sufficient for up to 150 guests. For larger gatherings, we offer more extensive sound system options. Please note that outdoor events may not achieve the same sound levels as indoor events, particularly with bass. For very large events with over 500 guests, we recommend consulting our live sound production department to ensure the best audio setup for your event space.

Will the DJ also MC?

Yes, depending on the type of event, the DJ’s MC roles will vary. For general parties, DJs typically focus on minimal MC interactions, making general announcements while letting the music drive the event. They will encourage guests to dance but avoid being overbearing.

For weddings, the DJ always assumes the role of the MC, handling all formal announcements such as the first dance, toasts, and parent dances. If you prefer, you can book a separate MC. Our standard wedding packages include the DJ handling all necessary announcements to ensure a seamless event.

What is your cancellation policy?

  • Client Cancellation (30+ Days Prior):
    If the Client cancels an Event at least thirty (30) days before the Event Date, all prepaid fees, costs, and expenses will be refunded in full, except for any deposits, which are non-refundable.

  • Client Cancellation (Less Than 30 Days Prior):
    If the Client cancels an Event less than thirty (30) days before the Event Date, any deposits, retainers, or prepaid fees, costs, and expenses will be forfeited. The Client will also be responsible for paying all fees and expenses outlined in the applicable SOW.

  • Extraordinary Cancellation Due to Client Non-Compliance:
    If Extraordinary cancels an Event because the Client fails to obtain necessary permits and permissions, the Client will forfeit any deposits, retainers, or prepaid fees, costs, and expenses, and will be liable for all fees and expenses specified in the agreement.

What is your policy if I need to reschedule my event?

In the event that inclement weather is reasonably anticipated, making the Event unsafe or otherwise impossible to hold on the scheduled Event Date:

  1. Client Request for Rescheduling:
    The Client may request a rescheduled event date (“Rescheduled Event Date”) by providing written notice at least seventy-two (72) hours before the Event Date.

  2. Efforts to Accommodate:
    Extraordinary will make commercially reasonable efforts to accommodate the Rescheduled Event Date. Both parties will collaborate in good faith to ensure that the services for the Rescheduled Event Date are materially similar to those specified in the applicable Statement of Work (SOW). The Client acknowledges that specific performers listed in the SOW may not be available on the Rescheduled Event Date, and will need to select replacement performers from a list provided by Extraordinary. If Extraordinary cannot accommodate the Rescheduled Event Date (as determined at its sole reasonable discretion), the parties will work together to find an alternative date for the Event.

  3. Retention and Application of Funds:

    • Deposit Retention: Extraordinary will retain the deposit for the original Event Date and any nonrefundable or nontransferable payments made in advance by Extraordinary for the Event to offset any costs associated with the original Event Date.
    • Funds Application: If Extraordinary can accommodate the Rescheduled Event Date or an alternative date, all funds paid by the Client for the original Event (excluding the original deposit and any nonrefundable or nontransferable payments) will be applied to the Rescheduled Event Date. The Client will pay a new deposit, and the parties will enter into a new SOW.
    • Refunds: If Extraordinary is unable to accommodate the Rescheduled Event Date or an alternative date, Extraordinary will refund any amounts paid by the Client in excess of the applicable deposit, less any nonrefundable or nontransferable payments made in advance by Extraordinary for the Event.
