The Challenge: Enhancing Attendee Experience at MongoDB.local NYC at Javits Center (NYC)

For the third consecutive year, MongoDB approached us to enhance their MongoDB.local NYC event at the Javits Center. With thousands of attendees and seven live presentation areas, the event required a solution that would allow attendees to engage deeply with presentations while reducing noise pollution in the vast venue.

Our Extraordinary Solution

We provided 1,400 pairs of headphones for a silent conference setup, enabling attendees to connect with presentations in a more intimate setting. Our technical team ensured a seamless experience, contributing to another successful collaboration. From sanitizing the headphones after each use to recharging them at the end of each day, our team diligently moved throughout the venue to ensure each stage was on point, quickly addressing any technical assistance needed by attendees.

Silent Conference

Utilizing proprietary silent headset technology, we alleviated many issues other companies face with multi-channel headphone experiences, such as frequency interference and stability. Our solutions can handle up to 20 simultaneous audio channels, providing exceptional audio clarity. This technology can also be utilized for hosting silent discos at events. Our tech team began by scanning the frequency spectrum to identify the optimal channels, ensuring a seamless audio experience for all attendees.

This crucial step, which many companies cannot accommodate due to their limited solutions of only 3 to 10 channels, is essential in major cities, where the risk of transmission issues is higher due to the vast array of signals being broadcast. Once the best operating frequencies were determined, our team synchronized all of the headphones across the seven presentation areas to guarantee an uninterrupted and fantastic experience.

He helped with formulating different ideas at the start of this project and supported all the way through to the day of making sure his team arrived to location on time for set up. Doug provided excellent advice for how to set up the stage for this large outdoor event, which was changing as the crowd size kept growing and the plans had to be adjusted. Before the event he and his team set everything up perfectly. During the event his team provided advice for handling large crowds and media at future events. We are very pleased with Extraordinary's services all around.

Chris Meyer was fantastic to work with during the sourcing process, and Stephanie and Reese were all-stars on-site during the event! The entire team was communicative, helpful, and clearly experts in their fields. The process leading up to the 75,000-person expo was handled expertly by Chris and was easy to do. I'm busy, so I appreciated this! He had great recommendations and was always quick to reply. On site, Stephanie and Reese were a great team and the photos were fantastic. Stephanie was proactive and when we had issues with the on-site provider, she was on it so fast! It made my job on site much less stressful and we were able to average over 250 large group 3D (Array) photos/day (including nearly 300 during the half day!), so it was a great investment. I will definitely work with Extraordinary again and I've shared their info with my colleagues so they can do the same when they need a photo vendor.
