The company offers customer relationship management software and applications with a focus on sales, customer service, marketing automation, e-commerce, analytics, artificial intelligence, and application development.
The Dreamforce convention, Salesforce’s premier annual event, required an exceptional private event to leave a lasting impression on sponsors in San Francisco. With high expectations and the need for seamless coordination, our team tackled the challenge with expertise and creativity. We collaborated closely with Carahsoft, the technology company responsible for managing the overall event, to navigate the various challenges of delivering the vision within budget.
The Challenge: Creating an Unforgettable Experience at Salesforce's Dreamforce Convention in San Francisco in September 2023
Entertainment was a key aspect of the event, and we presented several rounds of musical headlining acts to find the best fit that aligned with the budget and the audience. Once a decision was made, we worked closely with artist management and the venue to address logistical challenges, production needs, and rider requests for the band, Third Eye Blind.
Our Extraordinary Solution
With a focus on delivering an unforgettable entertainment experience, we carefully curated a lineup of services and talents that would captivate and thrill the audience at every turn. Here’s how we brought the show to life:
The event began with a fabulous cocktail hour featuring a champagne wall and a catering team offering a variety of delicious appetizers. Drinks were flowing as our very own DJ Q provided the perfect soundtrack to warm up the atmosphere. This created an ideal setting for mingling and networking among attendees and sponsors before they made their way into the main event space for the featured act, Third Eye Blind.
Third Eye Blind Headlining Act
We collaborated with Third Eye Blind’s manager to coordinate the arrivals and departures of the band members, providing transportation to and from the event. Additionally, we arranged a custom green room to meet various rider requests, all delivered by our team. Following a successful sound check, the headlining act performed a 90-minute set to close out the event, with much of the crowd singing along to the popular hits from the 90s they know and love.
Event Production
Our event production approach included a large custom-built stage, designed to comfortably accommodate the band and their stage presence, along with the necessary backline for the performance. The stage’s positioning was critical, as it needed to be visible to the largest number of guests while allowing for a smooth attendee flow throughout the venue. We also ensured space for lounge furniture and bars.
Sound System
The room was electric as our expertly designed sound system filled the air with crystal-clear audio, drawing in all the guests. With precise tuning and perfect placement, our sound engineers crafted an immersive experience that enveloped the audience, setting the stage for an unforgettable performance. As the band took the stage, our sound system delivered every note with clarity and power, ensuring an exhilarating experience that left a lasting impression on all who attended.
Lighting
With over 400 guests in attendance, our team crafted a stage show to complement the band, incorporating intelligent light fixtures, stage washes, and uplighting to enhance the room’s ambiance. We also provided special effects hazing to make the light beams stand out, giving the event a concert-like feel. Using multiple truss fixtures, we creatively arranged the lights to add dimension to the space, and we rigged a flown L Acoustics line array system to provide incredible sound and coverage for everyone to enjoy.
We placed uplighting throughout the venue to match the event’s theme colors, added pinspotting for bars and focal pieces, and projected custom laser gobos on the building’s exterior to create a standout entrance.
Security
Additionally, we provided a full security team to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all guests. We installed metal detectors and managed a team of 10 security guards throughout the facility to oversee entry points, monitor stairwells, and escort VIPs and the musical act to the stage.
