Hey, I'm Doug,
Your Event Entertainment Expert

My journey in the entertainment world started early. In college, I was already DJing a variety of events, from weddings to bar mitzvahs, and even working on award-winning short films. But my passion for creating immersive experiences didn’t stop there.

I’m passionate about bringing the power of live music to extraordinary events. With my background in event production, marketing, and business development, I have a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to create unforgettable experiences.

At Extraordinary, I’m an Account Executive and Senior Talent Buyer. I manage events for key clients and oversee the musicians’ talent-buying department, including marketing, recruiting, and booking.

My goal is to connect you with the perfect entertainment for your event, whether it’s a high-energy band, a solo artist, or a DJ. I’ll work closely with you to understand your needs and preferences, ensuring that the music enhances the atmosphere and creates a lasting impression on your guests.

Beyond my expertise in talent management, I’m also an active musician in the DC area. This firsthand experience gives me a unique perspective on the needs of musicians and the dynamics of live performances.

I believe that music has the power to transform any event, and I’m dedicated to helping you create an experience that will have your guests singing your praises.

People often ask me,
"What does a Talent Buyer actually do?"

It’s a great question! Many people don’t realize how much goes on behind the scenes to secure the perfect entertainment for an event. It’s more than just picking a band from a list; it’s about understanding the client’s vision, the event’s atmosphere, and the nuances of live performance.

Early Influences

My passion for events started with a love for stagecraft, live music, and the magic of entertainment. I was drawn to the energy and excitement of live performances, and I knew I wanted to be a part of creating those experiences.

Building a Foundation

Early in my career, I gained valuable experience in tour management for international bands and executive management of private event production at a non-profit events center in Montgomery County. These roles gave me a solid foundation in the logistical and creative aspects of event planning and execution.

The Role of a Talent Buyer

At Extraordinary, I wear two hats: Account Executive and Senior Talent Buyer. As an Account Executive, I manage events for key clients, ensuring their vision is translated into a seamless and unforgettable experience. I particularly enjoy events that involve live music, dynamic lighting, or special effects – anything that adds a touch of magic and excitement.

But my true passion lies in talent buying. I oversee the entire process for our musicians’ department, from marketing and recruiting to booking and contracting. I take pride in curating a diverse roster of talented artists and connecting them with the right events.

More Than Just Music

Talent buying requires a deep understanding of the music industry, strong negotiation skills, and a keen eye for talent. But it’s also about building relationships with artists, understanding their needs, and ensuring they have a positive experience at our events.

The Future

I’m excited to continue growing our talent pool and connecting extraordinary musicians with unforgettable events. I believe that live music has the power to elevate any experience, and I’m dedicated to helping our clients find the perfect soundtrack for their events.
